Step-by-Step Instructions
1: Loosen the stem clamp.
2: Remove the stem top cap.
3: Remove stem, handlebars, stem spacers, headset top cap and bearing, and slide the fork out of the headtube.
4: Pull the top GeoChip from the headtube. It should be removable by hand.
5: Ensure the GeoChip seat in the headtube is greased, flip the GeoChip around to the desired position, and press it back into the headtube by hand.
6: Repeat the same for the bottom chip.
7: If using an Angle Adjust GeoChip, ensure the upper chip's indicated size matches your frame size.
Angle adjustment is designated by the side of the chip which point fowards.
Note: the orientation of the top and bottom chips must match for correct beaing alignment.
8: Slide the fork steerer back through the headtube, ensuring the bottom bearing is installed
9: Reinstall the upper headset bearing, split ring, top cap, stem spacers, stem, and stem top cap
Note: if you changed to a different GeoChip than the one originally installed, you may need to adjust the stem spacers to ensure proper preload on the headset bearing.
10: Torque the stem to the manufacturer's specifications
